100_8699We stopped by Lake Kenosia Park last Saturday.  We hadn’t been there in a while, and we were in Danbury for some frozen yogurt at Peachwave, so a few minutes at the park seemed like a good compliment.

The park is about 25 acres.  There is a playground, ball fields, open grassy ares, a boat launch, and a beach.  Dogs are allowed in some some areas, but not the beach or playground sections.   The kids waded around in the water at the boat launch, then hit the playground for a few minutes.  For being in the middle of a busy area of Danbury, the park is peaceful, and the lake is rather picturesque.  However, the parking area looks a little run down, and I am not a fan of the endless chain-link fencing.  Horse fencing is SO much nicer.

To get to this park from Putnam, head east on Route 6 into Connecticut.  Make a right onto Kenosia Ave.  Just over the overpass for Interstate 84, turn right onto West Kenosia Ave (just before the cemetery).  A short distance down the road, the park entrance will be on your left.
