Carmel, NY

I’ve lived in Putnam for about 15 years. For some reason, I never made it over to George’s Place for breakfast. Honestly, it always seemed so crowded and busy. While that is a good thing for a business, I tend to avoid crowds, waiting on line, and things like that. But the other day we were dropping off some items to be mailed to our troops overseas. The drop-off location was next to George’s, I was hungry, and it didn’t look busy. Win, win, win.

We visited in Winter, but I think a summer or autumn breakfast on the patio that looks out over Lake Gleneida would be nice (just ignore Route 52 in front of you). People at George’s were friendly, prices seem super reasonable and the food was great – and this is coming from someone who is very particular about breakfast. (So much so that I help run a monthly breakfast fundraiser at the Brewster VFW but that is a different story.)

George’s got a redo not too long ago on Ty Pennington’s TV show “American Diner Revival”.

Their website says they are open 6am to 3pm, serving breakfast and lunch seven days a week. They are located at 36 Gleneida Ave, Carmel, NY. There phone number is 845-225-3933. As of this posting, the do not have a website. Tell them you heard about it on adventuresaroundputnam.com
