IMAG1970

Nothing like waiting ’til the last minute…just this week I brought the kids over to the Southeast Museum’s exhibits on Abraham Lincoln and Putnam’s Stone Cambers.  No, the two have no connection…that I know of…but both topics are certainly interesting.   Putnam has a huge number of stone chambers pocking its landscape, and there is debate regarding their origins.  Abraham Lincoln visited Putnam County during the Civil War when the ‘Parrott Canon” was built over at Cold Spring’s West Point Foundry Preserve.

If you want to check out the show, Saturday August 24th is the last day, so rush on down there tomorrow.  The museum is open 10am to 4pm.  There is no specific admission price, but don’t forget to leave something in the donation bowl.

Oh, and pick up a copy of Adventures Around Putnam Vol. 1 while you are there.
