One of the earliest forms of civilized rivalry, fencing has evolved over the ages as a sport that embodies honor, discipline, and self-expression.  Way of the Sword is a USFA club dedicated to promoting Olympic fencing in Lewisboro and surrounding areas.  We offer superior fencing instruction while teaching skills for honorable living in today’s face-paced and often challenging culture.  Our unique curriculum is designed to bring pupils to a deep understanding of fencing both as a sport and art form as well as of themselves as responsible, reflective, and well-meaning citizens. We use traditional training methods, excellent facilitation practices, and character education to develop strong athletes and individuals.  Our approach supports the notion: “Knowing how to solve a problem is more valuable than learning the solution.”  Students of the “Way” improve their ability to visualize, execute, recover, and finish with impunity.  Simply stated, students learn the way to “confidence.”

Way of the sword is located at Union Hall (in the upstairs studio), at 2 Keeler Lane, North Salem.   Their website is www.wayofthesword.org.  They can be reached  via email at info@wayofthesword.org or phone at 347-559-0767.  If you go, make sure you check out Balanced Rock just south of the fencing school.
